This spring, I got together with another photographer, Jeremy Haynes. We totally geeked out over cameras, lighting, posing, and all other things photo-related. It was so fun to get to play with various ideas and try out new techniques. I thought I'd share some of the images and the behind the scenes that went into the pictures.
Using a flash with a soft box-type attachment, off camera.
Using a flash, even in bright sunlight! It was extremely bright when we took this above pictures. However, adjusting my shutter speed and aperture in addition to having a flash off camera almost makes it seem as if the above pictures were taken near dark. Not true! Check out the placement of the sun in the top image!
Our accommodating and patient model, Joe, was great to work with! Above you'll see the same photograph just edited and cropped in various ways. The image to the left was simply color corrected and enhanced. The middle image had a vintage feel added to it through the adjusting of the saturation and other elements through Adobe Lightroom. The image to the right has been cropped and converted to black and white. Each of these images has a different feel to them and each of the images has a different focus.
